Steps

  1. In the 30 days before your check expires, a banner appears at the top of the app. It reads "Your For Real identity check for (your name) expires on (date). Re-verify now." Tap it. You can also open Settings > Account > For Real identity verification.
  2. Under "Your account", tap Re-apply.
  3. Fill in the application and tap Submit for review. See Applying for For Real.
  4. Your current mark stays active while the re-verification is reviewed. Open Settings > Account > For Real identity verification again to check. When the re-verification is approved, the new dates appear under "Your account".

Good to know

  • To see an expiry date, tap the FR mark next to a name. Your own dates are also under "Your account" ("Confirmed" and "expires") and in the public registry.
  • Organizations re-verify each year. Political checks run to the end of the election cycle. Your exact date is under "Your account".
  • You cannot re-apply earlier than 30 days before the date. Until then your status reads "This grant is active" and shows the date re-verification opens.
  • The banner does not show while a re-verification is pending.
  • When the date passes, the mark no longer shows next to your name, and the entry leaves the registry. Your status reads "No active grant". If your last re-verification was not approved or you withdrew it, your status shows that instead. Tap Re-apply to start again.
  • Pamojah can revoke a check at any time. A revoked check works like an expired one: the mark goes and the entry leaves the registry.
  • If a re-verification is not approved, your current mark stays until its expiry date. Your status reads "Latest re-verification: not approved" with the reviewer's note.
  • Pausing your account does not end the check. While your account is paused, other people cannot see the mark, and your entry leaves the registry. Both come back when you reactivate your account.
  • The same applies to a page you administer. Its status is under "Page you administer" on the same screen, and the banner names the page.
