Steps

  1. Tap +. The camera opens with Post selected under the record button.
  2. Before you record, you can tap Upload to use a video from your library, or Effects for an AR effect. Both go away once you have recorded a clip. See AR effects.
  3. Tap the record button to start a clip and again to stop. Clips appear in the strip above the controls. Tap a clip to change its speed (0.3× to 3×). Tap the small x on a clip to delete it. Drag clips to reorder them. Flip works while recording.
  4. Use the menu on the right for Flip, Filters, Background, Timer and Speed. Tap the arrow under the icons to show their names.
  5. Tap Next. On the Trim screen, drag the ends of the window to choose the part you want, or tap the strip to scrub. Tap Retake to go back to the camera.
  6. Tap Next: Add Text. On the Overlays screen, tap Text or Sticker (the buttons may show only an icon). Drag to move. You can pinch an emoji or image sticker to resize it. Dimmed bands labelled Feed menu, Feed buttons and Caption show where the feed may cover your video. You can still place text and stickers there. When the one you selected reaches into a band, a note tells you about it.
  7. Tap Next. On the Details screen, write a caption, choose a Category (required), pick an Audience and set the other options.
  8. Tap Publish. On the confirmation screen, tap View post to open it or Done to close.

Good to know

  • Filters (Original, Vivid, B&W, Warm, Cool, Vintage and Fade) apply to the whole video.
  • Background puts a Blur, a colour (Navy, Teal, Tide, Sunset or Spotlight) or a Photo from your library behind you. It applies to the whole video too.
  • Timer gives you a countdown of 3s or 10s before recording starts. It can also stop recording after a number of seconds you choose.
  • Text comes in Standard, Bold and Handwritten styles, and each piece has an Appears after setting.
  • Stickers are emoji, your own images, or Interactive stickers (Poll, Question, Location, Mention, Hashtag and Countdown). Upload an image and crop it Square or Circle. It stays in My Stickers for your next post. Interactive stickers keep working on the published video. When people watch, Pamojah moves them away from the feed's menu, buttons and caption, and makes them smaller if it has to.
  • On the Details screen, tap Music to see All Tracks, or search for a track by its title. Tap a track to choose it. Back on Details, tap Preview to hear it.
  • Details also has Claim Originator, Contains Explicit Content, and Who can Stitch and Who can Duet (see Stitch and Duet).
  • If you run a page, Posting as lets you publish as the page. See Posting as a page.
  • Pamojah does not save drafts. If you close the camera or tap Cancel before you tap Publish, the video is not saved on Pamojah.
  • Your own posts show on your profile, not in For You, which is for discovering other people's videos.
