Steps

Choose which events notify you

  1. Go to Settings (Profile tab, then the menu button at the top right). Under Notifications, tap Notification Preferences.
  2. Turn each event on or off. Under Activity: Messages, Likes, New Followers, Poll Votes and Drop Replies. Nearby Drops has its own section. Under Street Cred: Originator Status Changes.

Allow or stop all notifications from Pamojah

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app, tap Notifications, then tap Pamojah.
  2. Turn Allow Notifications on or off. Apple's guide: Change notification settings on iPhone.

Good to know

  • Pamojah asks for permission to send notifications after you sign in. If you said no, the Push Notifications switch in Settings > Notifications stays off. Tapping it opens the iPhone Settings app, where the permission lives.
  • Turning the Push Notifications switch off in Pamojah does not turn notifications off. It opens the iPhone Settings app, where that choice lives.
  • The per-event switches have no effect while the iPhone permission is off. Your choices are still saved. The app's words: "These are silenced entirely when Push Notifications is turned off above."
  • Nearby Drops is also a location choice. Turning it on shares your approximate location with Pamojah. Pamojah uses it to tell you when you are close to a Drop by someone you follow. Turn it off any time, and what was stored is deleted. It also needs location permission for Pamojah. If Nearby Drops is on but that permission is off, the screen says "Location permission is off for Pamojah, so nearby alerts can't work."
  • Drop Replies is separate from Nearby Drops. It can tell you when someone replies to your Drop with a Drop. You are not told about replies from people you muted.
  • Poll Votes tells you when someone votes on a poll sticker in your video.
  • Pamojah does not send email notifications.
  • You do not receive notifications while your account is paused or scheduled for deletion.
  • If notifications are on but not arriving, see Notifications are not arriving.
